Studying the field of “Public History” is a little weird to grapple at first. Public history is basically studying how history is presented to the general populace and also how the general populace interprets and uses history.

For basketball research, this especially means focusing on  research about the creation of historical narratives, how popular memory is created, and oral history studies.
